Vacationers flock to Minnesota state parks as COVID wanes After so many changed vacation plans last summer because of the pandemic, this upcoming Fourth of July holiday weekend is expected to be a busy one. The Salos and Keskitalos from New York Mills found the perfect spot at the park Tuesday, June 29. The Salos will be there all week, along with others who are quickly filling the campground in preparation for the Fourth of July weekend. It is great to be out, and it is kind of hard to get camping spots because people just want to be out in mother nature, said camper Kayleen Salo.
