Atmos Energy is responding to a natural gas outage caused by a supplier’s transmission line that was damaged by a third-party construction crew late Tuesday evening.
The supplier’s pipeline feeds natural gas to the Atmos Energy distribution system serving Buena Vista, Colorado. The outage is expected to affect a smaller portion of the population, approximately 200 residential customers living along County Road 361 and North Highway 24 on the north and west side of town.
The supplier is currently working to resolve the issue.
Beginning Wednesday morning, residents may see Atmos Energy trucks throughout the area performing the restoration process.“We expect the restoration process will continue throughout the day, and affected customers will not have natural gas service during this time,” said Dan Higgins, Atmos Energy Operations Supervisor. “The safety of our customers, employees, and our system is our number one priority.
