Thank you very much, and thank you very much for everyone showing up this afternoon. Those were very generous comments and i am honored to be here today. At the stimson center, an institution named for and inspired by a man who helps guide the nation through some of the most difficult challenges that we have ever faced. And an organization that i remember calling upon for guidance and assistance on many occasions particularly when i was working for sam nun who i had the pleasure to work with for about 17 years. And i remember spending at the old office north of Dupont Circle many a day talking to bury and mike and the team of experts on proliferation issues, loose nukes, chemical and biological warfare issues. So its a Great Institution and its an honor to come back here. Little did i know two months ago, approximately two months ago when we got together and talked about this, how good stimson was and it really is today i realized how good they are. Two months ago when we picked this d
For this and support this and i want to use my remaining time to talk a little bit about the budget resolution the Budget Conference Committee that we are going to talk about later. I completely agree with chairman mckeon. In the spirit what i said about the ndaa, about the necessity of getting our job done, we need to pass a budget. I know it impacts all manner of other pieces of government but im most familiar with what it does to the department of defense to not have a budget, to not have Appropriations Bills, to have to go from c. R. To c. R. To Government Shutdown threat to actual Government Shutdown to another Government Shutdown threat, you simply cannot function as well as you should or as well as you would if you had a dependable budget that said heres what you have. It would never be what all of us want. It is better of the predictability of having an appropriations process. Its critical we Pass National defense authorizing act, its critical we pass the budget. We have to fun

If you go to other countries, especially asia and other stuff, importing all their students to get educated here and exporting all the brain power out right after that, i think its a real problem, you know . But theres nhing i can do about that except try to make great music and great headphones. Next question, please . I really enjoy the conversation you all were having about the Entertainment Industry an the how it relates to the Technology Industry because i come from an industry thats sort of a marriage of both, the video Game Industry. Secretary of state paul, Stanley Mcchrystal and marcia anderson. This is part of the chicago ideas week conference. They represent less than 1 of the american population. Most of them, from workingclass families. From not too far from here in the workingclass neighborhood of chicago or the bar rios of the southwest or the deep woods of the self and the hills of new england. Or from the rural part of my native great plains. They volunteered a sense of patriotism and a determination to advance their own lives as well. In the course of these two long wars, they have 100 of the risks and 100 of the wounds and deaths. Their families at home have been living in bubble of Emotional Trauma thinking that no one on around them cares because no one was asked of the rest of us. If we did not have someone in that war, or if we did not know someone in that war, it could be out of sight, out of mind. We were not asked to make any sacrifices. The war just went on, fought by these brave Young American
