tell me about the juice that you have been meeting who are coming from ukraine? for the last few weeks, we ve been seeing a great influx of refugees coming from ukraine. jews and non-jews as well. we try to welcome everyone. but the jewish people who come through red awake make connection with us. just a few days after the war broke up, we had a colleague of mine from odessa, they said, rabbi, i don t know what to do, please try to help us. i have 150 kids, in a jewish orphanage, that are not safe. they don t have parents, they don t even have passports. how do we take them to a safer place? so we helped to arrange for them to come through the border. and on this night, this budapest synagogue welcomes more than 50 ukrainian refugees, brightening their lives in a particularly dark time. among the guests, the musician as a jewish scholar, pink, is forced to flee ukraine,

Why do we love Ödön Lechner so much? What is it about his buildings, with their winding tendrils, ornate tiles in the shapes of flowers and leaves, their shock of colour, their façades and rooflines which are so like glimpsing inside a fairy-tale, that inspire such awe and reverence? How could one man capture such grandeur in his creations? Everyone who has spent a little time in Budapest is familiar with the Grand Master of Art Nouveau, without whose buildings the city would be a little more grey and unimagined.
