The 2021 NFL Draft was football research director Ernie Adams final one with the New England Patriots, head coach Bill Belichick said after Saturday s seventh round concluded. Belichick declined to say if Adams is retiring.
Adams, 68, has worked with Belichick on three different teams (the Patriots, Browns and Giants), and spent 25 years across two different stints with the Patriots since joining the team as an offensive assistant in 1975. He has also worked in personnel and administration, holding his current title since 2000, Belichick s first year as head coach, and helped the team win six Super Bowls.
