GPs in Buckley have vaccinated hundreds of residents using the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for the first time within the community as part of a pilot project. Previously, the Pfizer vaccine could only be used in the mass vaccination centres due to the ultra-low temperatures it needs to be stored at. However, over the weekend, the health board confirmed that 1,100 jabs were given in Buckley Medical Centre. Vaccines were also given on the Llŷn Peninsula - 1,200 people at Tŷ Doctor in Nefyn, Gwynedd to be specific. The surgeries worked in collaboration with other GP practices within their cluster to deliver the vaccine to priority patients within two days.
