The Nepalese Association of Wiltshire organised a remembrance ceremony for the Duke of Edinburgh. The event was held in Buckhurst Community Centre on Saturday – the day of Prince Philip s funeral – and was led by chair Gyan Prasad Gurung. Only a handful of members were able to attend the ceremony because of Covid-19 restrictions. A spokesperson for the association said: “Due to the royal family’s close tie with Gurkhas and the duke himself was appointed as Colonel of 7th Duke of Edinburgh’s Own Gurkha Rifles, it was important that Nepali community had organised the event to pay respect to HRH on the day of his funeral.”
