BUCKHANNON – Christmas Around the World brought joy and excitement to all of Upshur County children who visited downtown Buckhannon to participate in a Christmas scavenger hunt, Crypt A Gram contest and visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus, the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who.
They were treated to cookies, cake, apple cider and tea to keep them refreshed as they walked Main Street visiting businesses who had decorated trees representing Austria, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Philippines, Poland, Russia and Spain.
Completing their tour, they journeyed back to Santa’s Headquarters to drop off their completed forms and stuff their ticket indicating their favorite tree, into the proper box. Of course, getting to visit Santa and whisper their secret Christmas wishes brought smiles to all their faces.
Kids can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus on Main Street Saturday following BURMA scavenger hunt
BUCKHANNON – December 25 is fast-approaching and the time for kids to participate in the “Christmas Around the World” activities in downtown Buckhannon is waning.
Did you know Saturday, Dec. 12, is the last day participants can turn in their ‘Christmas Around the World’ activity sheet at Christmas Headquarters at 56 East Main Street, next to Dairy Queen?
The Buckhannon-Upshur Retail Merchants Association partnered with the City of Buckhannon and 12 local shops to bring different cultures – and plenty of Christmas spirit – to Main Street.
BURMA member Jerry Henderson said they wanted to give the community an activity to enjoy, help small businesses and bring different cultures together.
France at Sprint Store
Ireland at Stone Tower Brews
