let me answer that in a different way. following the democratic debates and bill de blasio s performance i talked to democrats from new york and asked them, what is de blasio doing in the presidential race. they said privately he s angling to run for governor against likely andrew cuomo. seems kind of interesting that he did not return immediately as quintan said to the city if, in fact, that is his goal to actually run for the state house in albany. but compared to buttigieg, if you look at twitter, a lot of prognosticators and pundits, so to speak, are saying it s night and day. de blasio, again, why is he passing the buck off. pete buttigieg had a serious, sensitive issue and went home, dealt with it and came back and number one faced tough questions at home about it and, number two, came back and faced tough
american people, not him personally. elizabeth warren is out with a plan to ban private prison facilities including in relation to the border facilities, which are very much in the news. right now you might argue, as the number two candidate for the democratic nomination. she s certainly in a battle for that number two spot with bernie sanders. listen, she has made this her calling card, policy after policy after policy. this particular policy gets at the heart of one of her main overriding themes which is that she thinks these for-profit prisons or detention facilities are part of sort of the washington corruption game, the revolving door, people leave government and make a buck off of detaining people. she says when she s president she will shut that down, she doesn t think people should profit off of detaining human beings. there are ongoing issues in south bend that will take pete buttigieg away from another major campaign event. we just learned from his
