Of hours but firefighters finally got the better of this fire but not before it burned a big section on the south side of San Bruno Mountain behind me and fire crews are still up over the edge digging the firelines back there to protect the areas that did not burn today. To ignite this grass fire on the peninsula. It quickly spread to four alarms and sent crews racing to South San Francisco. The fire was first reported after 2 30 this omaha near the intersection of hillside boulevard and chestnut avenue. Ktvus Noelle Walker is inside South San Francisco. Reporter the South San Francisco Fire Department was one of the departments fighting that blaze. Calfire crews are dousing hotspots and making sure that the wind doesnt flare up the flames again.
