Maryland: Can Terps Be The Best in B1G?

Tuesday February 16th, 2021 8:00am (Inside Lacrosse Photo: Jaclyn Borowski) After a busy offseason in which Maryland added a couple of talented grad transfers and replaced Holy Cross-bound J.L. Reppert, the Terps enter the 2021 season having returned all their starters on a team that got off to a 5-1 start and produced a Top-10 scoring offense.  Following an abbreviated fall, the Terps have had plenty of time to adjust to new practice protocols and prep to “Be The Best” in a season where continuity carried over from last spring is as important as ever.  Senior SSDM Roman Puglise said as much during Maryland’s preseason media day on Tuesday, adding that the team was excited as ever to get going for their first practice on Jan. 12.

Maryland men s lacrosse: 2021 Season Preview

Photo by Alan Schaefer/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images Thanks to a devastating pandemic, an unsavory finish to Maryland men’s lacrosse 2020 campaign left plenty to be desired. In just six games, the team demonstrated its perennial ability to produce at a high level on offense, displayed its depth on both sides of the field and was firmly positioned to make a significant run in the NCAA Tournament. Now with no major departures following the prolonged offseason, the Terps, who are No. 5 ranking per Inside Lacrosse, bring in a roster that includes high-end freshman talent along with prolific upperclassmen athletes. And they’re all poised to make this 2021 season a mulligan to last year’s shortened campaign.

Quint s Preseason Top 20: No Excuses — Adapt, Overcome and Enjoy

Monday February 1st, 2021 8:00am (Photo by Natalie Ledonne/Duke Athletics) You’ll be provided lots of excuses in 2021. The storyline of who didn’t play because of COVID will be a weekly lede. It’s everybody’s headline, but you’ll hear it conveniently used by losers, those that came up short. On gameday, you have all you need. Adapt. Be flexible. Overcome. Enjoy. A trio of games will be televised this weekend 3 p.m. Friday, Denver at Duke;  4 p.m. Saturday, Towson at Virginia; and 11 a.m. Sunday, Denver at North Carolina. Networks should be ACC Network Friday and Saturday and ESPNU for Sunday. Schedules are apt to change and shift, so be cognizant.

Men s Lacrosse: Big Ten Preview

After posting the Ohio State preview, it s only fair to do a rundown of the entire conference so we can contextualize what the Buckeyes are facing this season. With what will most likely be a conference-only schedule on the docket, Ohio State is going to be facing an absolute murderer s row of talent every week. And it will certainly be a challenge to reach the 6 wins needed to get to the conference tournament. Especially since so much talent has coalesced at the top of the conference. Each team will be previewed in projected order of finish during the regular season. That projection is supplied by me, because these are free posts on a free website and nobody could afford a better writer during COVID. Them s the breaks.
