Child saves younger sibling from Glasgow-area fire, elderly woman seriously injured

Two locals a 7-year-old boy and a former deputy chief with Christiana Fire Company are being hailed for their heroic actions in saving two residents from a burning home near Glasgow Thursday afternoon.
According to state fire officials, smoke detectors alerted the boy to the fire around 1 p.m., prompting him to call 911. The boy was able to get a younger sibling, who was in a second-floor bedroom, out of the house before trying to save a 91-year-old woman who lived in the home.
