Bryshere Gray, known best to television viewers as Hakeem Lyon on the Fox drama
Empire, has formally entered a guilty plea in his domestic violence case. The actor was originally arrested last summer following a situation that involved a standoff with police and crisis negotiators. At the time, Gray was charged with misdemeanor assault (domestic violence), felony aggravated assault (strangulation) and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Now, after the plea, the actor is heading to jail.
Bryshere Gray pled guilty to felony aggravated assault, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ. As part of this plea agreement, Gray has been sentenced to 10 days in county jail and will serve three years of probation. The actor has also been ordered to pay restitution as a part of the deal. In addition, heâll be required to enroll in a domestic violence offender treatment program.

‘Empire’ Star Bryshere Gray Pleads Guilty In Federal Domestic Violence Case & Must Do Jail Time
Bryshere Gray, who plays the role of Hakeem Lyon on Empire, is facing a serious legal situation.
Gray pleaded guilty in his federal domestic violence case to felony aggravated assault, as reported on news sources. He must serve jail time. According to court documents, he’ll be in prison for ten days. In addition, Gray has to do three years on probation, where he must enroll in a domestic violence offender treatment program.
Gray also has to submit to drug and alcohol testing; it’s not clear how often. He also has to stay out of trouble and can’t possess any firearms, Tasers, or stun guns. TMZ reports Gray has to pay restitution. In addition, Gray has to check in with his probation officer within 72 hours of being contacted by law enforcement. Gray also needs written approval from the police before associating with anyone who has a criminal record.

TMZ is reporting that Gray has entered a guilty plea and will have to serve some prison time as part of the plea. As part of his guilty plea to felony aggravated assault, “Hakeem Lyon” will have to serve 10 days in county jail followed by three years of probation. While on probation Gray will have to refrain from consuming any kind of illegal drugs and have to submit to drug and alcohol testing. He’s also been ordered to pay restitution and enroll in a domestic violence offender treatment program.
