A Jamaican man enlisted in the US Army and a teenage boy have been charged with the kidnapping and murder of a 20-year-old army corporal in Byram Township, New Jersey, United States.
Private Jamaal Mellish, a 23-year-old resident of Brooklyn, New York, and a 16-year-old boy who has not been identified, are jointly charged with first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, second-degree possession of a weapon without a permit, and second-degree possession of weapons for unlawful purposes.
The charges are all linked to the death of Corporal Hayden Harris, whose body was found on December 19 last year.
Mellish, a past student of Manning s High School in Westmoreland, Jamaica, is also charged with suppressing evidence.
