A little-known board has been working over the last year to identify resiliency measures and ensure the systems the Space Force buys meet those standards.
Victus Haze is the second iteration of the Space Force’s Tactically Responsive Space-3 (TacRS-3) mission to launch a prototype satellite within 24 hours of a “go” order, but also is designed to quickly perform an up-close on-orbit inspection of a (simulated) threatening spacecraft.
Each company will design and build a satellite capable of rendezvousing with other spacecraft in orbit at close proximity, as well as command and control centers for the mission.
"I don't care what it takes to get after the threat. That's really the cultural change that we're embarking upon," SSC head Lt. Gen. Michael Guetlein told the Space Force Association's inaugural Spacepower conference.
