The first question was directed toward Evanchyk, asking her what her role was as a School Board member. She responded with two main functions: to make sure the policies they pass are in line with state statutes and act as gatekeepers for the funding in the School District.
“We really want to be in a support role,” Evanchyk said. “Support our workers, support our employees and make sure that they are aware that we realize particularly in the last year what they’re up against. By supporting them, we support you. And you and your fellow students are the most important thing.”
