CHARLOTTE, N.C. -The Charlotte 49ers had two players drafted in the third round of the MLB Draft on Tuesday.
Catcher Aaron McKeithan went in the 16th round, 481st overall to the St. Louis Cardinals. He joins Salisbury native Austin Love, who the Cardinals drafted in the third round.
In the 18th round, Niner’s pitcher Bryce McGowan was selected 530th overall by the Colorado Rockies. He is the 57th pick in school history and also the first-ever by Colorado.
