JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. â Moultrie Scene magazine shone at the Georgia Press Association awards banquet Friday on Jekyll Island.
The Moultrie Observer garnered a total of nine editorial awards; four of them were for its work on Moultrie Scene, including first place in the Best Magazine Product category.
The GPA awards honored work produced during the 2020 calendar year. Entries were judged within circulation categories. Results of a separate advertising competition have not been released.

VALDOSTA â Valdosta Daily Times Editor Jim Zachary and reporter Bryce Ethridge won top honors in the 2020 Best of CNHI editorial contest.
Zachary and Ethridge won awards for columnist of the year.
Zachary, who in addition to being The Valdosta Daily Times editor is CNHIâs director of newsroom training and development and president emeritus of the Georgia First Amendment Foundation, won Division I columnist of year.
Ethridge is the government reporter with The Valdosta Daily Times. He won Division III columnist of the year for columns he wrote while working for The Moultrie Observer, a sister paper to The Valdosta Daily Times.
