How it Happened
Rhode Island got its fourth straight victory by shutting out in-state rival Bryant Saturday afternoon.
Ryan Twitchell (2-0) picked up his second win in as many starts, outdueling Bryant’s Tyler Mattison (1-2).
URI (6-5) struck first when it manufactured a pair of runs in the bottom of the third. Addison Kopack began the inning with a single and was sacrificed to second by Alex Ramirez. Kopack moved to third on a passed ball, then scored on a wild pitch. Austin White was hit by a pitch, and he moved around to third when Max Mircovich doubled to right field. White came in on the second passed ball of the inning, putting Rhody up, 2-0.
