two seasons after he stepped aside from coaching the Buckeyes.
1. Meyer is the first OSU coach in more than 60 years to move into another major head coaching job after leaving the Buckeyes. Woody Hayes, John Cooper and Jim Tressel didn’t coach again after their time in Columbus, and Earle Bruce moved on to Northern Iowa, Colorado State and later the Arena Football League after he was fired. But OSU fans haven’t watched a former coach on a major stage since the ’40s.

Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith declined comment to the Dispatch. A couple of other key Meyer staffers that stayed on under successor
Ryan Stamper appear to be less certain.
A few position coaches with the Buckeyes could also consider joining Meyer, according to the Dispatch. Defensive coordinator/secondary coach
Kerry Coombs, co-defensive coordinator/SAM linebackers coach
Brian Hartline were further mentioned as possibilities.
Marotti worked with Meyer in the same capacity dating back to 2005 at Florida, where Meyer was the head coach from 2005-10. Marotti continued with the Gators into 2011 with subsequent head coach
