PHILADELPHIA – A Bucks County man has voluntarily discontinued litigation against a pair of manufacturers for negligence and other causes of action in federal court, after his legs were allegedly crushed while using a turntable stretch wrapper machine.
PHILADELPHIA – A lawsuit from a South Carolina woman who claimed she was scalded by an exploding tea kettle manufactured by a Bucks County company has been settled.
Lisa Maseng of Columbia, S.C. initially filed suit in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas on Aug. 19 versus Lenox Corporation of Bristol and John Doe defendants 1-10.
The case was later removed to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Sept. 15, based upon grounds of diversity of citizenship and the amount of damages in controversy.
The alleged incident took place Oct. 6, 2018, when Maseng was boiling water for tea. She said the Lenox Profile 2.5 Quart Stainless Steel Whistling Tea Kettle was in the same condition as when she bought it new at a Tuesday Morning store in Richland County, South Carolina.
Sunbeam Health at Home Heating Pad | Very Well Fit
ALLENTOWN – A Berks County plaintiff alleges she was severely burned by a home heating pad, and has brought legal action against the manufacturer of the device for damages to compensate for the injuries she suffered.
Zoraida Muniz-Escobar of Reading filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Dec. 22 versus Sunbeam Products, Inc., of Boca Raton, Fla.
“On or about April 14, 2020, plaintiff, Zoraida Muniz-Escobar, was using the aforesaid Sunbeam electronic Health at Home Heating Pad in an ordinary and reasonable fashion and on a low setting when, after 15 minutes of use, the subject product unexpectedly reached a dangerously high temperature, thereby causing the plaintiff to suffer severe burn injuries,” the suit states.
