Man held without bond in connection with Jan 5 shooting

Copyright © 2021 Roswell Daily Record A local judge has ruled that a man arrested in connection with a recent shooting will remain in custody up through his eventual trial. Bryan Dillard (Submitted Photo) Judge Jared Kallunki of New Mexico’s Fifth Judicial District Court on Wednesday granted a motion by the District Attorney’s Office to hold Bryan Dillard, 25, of Roswell, without bond on charges related to a Jan. 5 shooting. Dillard is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, bribery of a witness, retaliation against a witness, and armed robbery. Court documents state that on Jan. 5 Dillard and Lorena Beltran, 42, of Roswell, picked up a male acquaintance and took him to a 500 block of West Tilden Street residence where Dillard reportedly robbed the victim at gunpoint of $1,000 before Beltran shot him once in the chest. The victim then fled to a nearby convenience store where police were called.
