This post was updated April 29 at 7:09 p.m. One step forward, two steps back. Since the return of students to campus after the COVID-19 pandemic, UCLA Dining has failed to build upon the momentum of its small wins and ultimately struggled to find its footing.
As students wandered out of their dorms bleary-eyed Monday, they were met not just with the new quarter but also new breakfast options at Bruin Café and Epicuria at Ackerman.
Students living on the Hill are complaining of long wait times – sometimes up to 90 minutes – at UCLA’s takeout restaurants. The delays come after UCLA Dining switched food ordering at The Study at Hedrick, Rendezvous, Bruin Café and Epicuria at Ackerman to an online system through the Transact Mobile app last month.
This post was updated Sept. 25 at 4:54 p.m. UCLA Dining’s mobile ordering faced systemwide outages earlier today, preventing students from ordering. The Transact Mobile Ordering app allows students to order food using their meal plans from UCLA’s takeout dining halls, including The Study at Hedrick, Rendezvous and Bruin Café.
UCLA Dining plans to implement mobile ordering at all takeout dining locations in the fall following a trial period at Bruin Café and Epicuria at Ackerman.
