While the circumstances might be quite different, the potentially explosive Racing Victoria probe and the case involving former leviathan bookmaker and breeder Bruce McHugh have a common theme; the ethics of tampering with the natural breeding process. RV is responding to documents presented by a witness who claims to have evidence of the use of illegal surrogates. The evidence is believed to relate to both a former champion racemare and the mother of a current champion. If proven, the allegations could have a bearing on the eligibility of the champion to compete.
