One thing is for certain for the 2021 Chicago Cubs.
They are not going to win many games if they don’t start hitting.
Eight hits in three games, seven total runs, somehow the Cubs managed to win one of those games, but that sort of thing isn’t going to work all season.
The Cubs have only 20 hits in the six games so far this year. Even the Mets have more and they’ve played three fewer games, for heaven’s sake.
Anyway, the Cubs generally got good pitching on a day that felt more like June than April at Wrigley Field, except when it came to Brewers center fielder Lorenzo Cain, who homered in consecutive at-bats in the eighth and 10th, the latter with two runners on base to give Milwaukee the win.

ST. GEORGE, Utah â Before he pitched in the big leagues, Bruce Hurst had deep ties to whatâs now called Dixie State University.
âI am in favor of change,â Hurst said in an interview with FOX 13.
âI am of the opinion that the name does have some negative ramifications or connotations with it that reach farther than Washington County and St. George and I think itâs important that we create an environment that is welcoming to all â that doesnât offend.â
Hurst was an All-Star for the Red Sox and also pitched for the San Diego Padres, Colorado Rockies and Texas Rangers. Dixie Stateâs baseball stadium is named for Hurst and a statue of the school star featuring his lefthanded follow-through stands outside the ballpark.

SEX ASSAULT CLAIMS
All credit to the Prime Minister for coming out strongly condemning the alleged rape of a young Liberal Party staffer in 2019 (ââWe need to do betterâ: PM apologises for treatment of Higginsâ, The Age, 16/2). Although long overdue it appeared his apology, and subsequent action, was heartfelt and sincere.
Two things are concerning, however. It beggars belief that the PM didnât know of the allegation back in 2019. I would have thought something as heinous as an alleged rape would have been flagged with the PMâs office if not the PM himself at that time.

Looie – my first 33 years as a fan the Red Sox always came up short. In 1974 the RS led by 7 games Sept 1 and ended up 7 back at season’s end. In 1975 they led 3-0 in game 7 of WS and lost only to loose to the Reds. In 1986 the RS led by 2 runs against the Mets in game 6 of the WS needing only one out to win the WS. Bruce Hurst had already been named WS MVP and would have been the winning pitch in game 6 (and would have been the winning pitch in 3 WS games), then all hell breaks loose and they loose game 6 and 7……
