LaFluer fills a vacancy left by the June 22 resignation of Joe Faulkner.
LaFluer previously served as a trustee with a term ending in November 2020.
Also applying were Don King, Mark Voege, Bruce Harder, Chris Strayer and Crystal Adams.
Village manager Mark Honeysett said in the general law village act, there is no prescribed method for selecting a candidate, nor specific criteria for naming a person to village the seat.
Trustee Kenda Cartagena said LaFluer served successfully in his previous term, and is familiar with all the time and work we put in setting up our own sewer plant.
Village president Gary Mathers said LaFluer is “up to speed more. He attended closed sessions we had with engineers and lawyers.
