£2,900 raised through Fairford Poppy Appeal

writes Chris Roberts. Like so many things last year, the RBL had to adapt their Poppy Appeal 2020 due to the Covid-19 restrictions. In Fairford, the RBL members put up a covered table in the forecourt of the Palmer Hall on the Saturday before Remembrance Sunday and also left collection boxes in high footfall areas such as pubs and shops. Of the boxes that were collected, together with £219.65 from a collection in Down Ampney as well as the proceeds from face masks made by a lady in Down Ampney, the grand total of £2,916 was deposited into the RBL bank account.
