HARTFORD, Conn Protestors gathered in front of the governor’s mansion Saturday afternoon in frigid temperatures calling for a cancellation of rent for the state.
Demonstrators say that the cancellation of rent is needed now more than ever because come next year may not have a place to live.
Michael Oretade said, “We’re coming out here to cancel the rent that he put into this rental relief program and it’s not helping and there are hundreds of thousands of people in Connecticut who are at risk of losing their home.
Occupy Yale demonstrators demand Yale pay its fair share of New Haven taxes

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut On Thursday evening, members representing the groups Unidad Latina En Accion (ULA), Black and Brown United in Action (BBUA), and Hamden Action Now gathered in front of Yale University to demand it pay its fair share to the city of New Haven.
A spokesperson for the demonstrators wrote in a press release that the Elm City is facing a $13 million deficit, while Yale is closing the fiscal year with a surplus of $203 million. The spokesperson added Yale had an endowment of $31.2 billion.
