A one vehicle accident on Highway 279 and County Road 102, north of Brownwood, seriously injured the Lake Brownwood Bridge Fire Department Chief. Thursday afternoon, Lake Brownwood Bridge Chief Randy Feight was seriously injured while responding in a fire department vehicle to an oilfield tank battery fire during the afternoon storm. According to Darrell Johnston, Brown County Emergency Management Coordinator, Chief Feight was taken to Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood and was then transferred to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene for further treatment. According to a statement on the Lake Brownwood Bridge VFD Facebook page late Thursday night:  “Chief suffered several injuries but is currently listed in stable condition at Hendricks in Abilene.”
