The buildings are located in the Brookville Garden complex on Everglade Avenue.
The city says the buildings are unlivable.
Mayor Lynn Spruill said the buildings have been an issue for a while and the property owners have not made an attempt at making the buildings livable.
Only one person remains in the run-down buildings, she added. That person will have seven days from when a notice is posted to leave.
The mayor says locals have been aware of the demolition for a number of months.
