Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino played host to Hoosier Champions Night on Friday (Oct. 14) and the 15-race program provided a fitting conclusion to the 2022 Indiana Sires Stakes season.
Racing returned to Harrah’s Hoosier Park on Wednesday (Oct. 5) with a 14-race card loaded with Indiana Sire Stakes action. With Hoosier Champions looming just over a week away on Oct. 14, it was the last chance to earn valuable points to make it into the Indiana Sire Stakes Super Finals for the Indiana standouts.
Harrah’s Hoosier Park hosted the penultimate leg of Indiana Sire Stakes for freshman trotters on Tuesday, Sept. 13. Three divisions for two-year-old trotting colts and two for trotting fillies highlighted the evening's 14-race card.
It was a night ruled by upsets at Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino on Wednesday, Aug. 30 as the post-time favourite faltered in 10 of the evening’s 14 races. Two $67,000 divisions of Indiana Sires Stakes for the two-year-old trotting colts and geldings were featured on the evening's card and both followed suit with upset winners.
Selling in the first of the two sessions, Bourbon Courage brought the highest bid of the Hoosier Classic Sale while becoming the highest-priced Indiana-sired yearling in history on Friday (Oct. 22).
