EXETER – After 3½ years behind the counter of Brookside Market and Deli, owners Pete Aresco and his husband Ben Bright are selling their convenience store.
The store located at 51 Hampton Road gained widespread notoriety after selling New Hampshire s first winning Mega Millions ticket in 2019.
But more than the publicity they gained from the lottery hype, Aresco said the relationships with customers they have forged in their time owning the store has been “the ride of a lifetime.”
Their last official day as owners is Friday after making the announcement on Facebook Tuesday. In the post, they thanked their “loyal” customers who they credited with having “grown this business to the success that we could have never imagined.”
