Wednesday, April 7, 2021 By Allen Hamil, Sports Editor QUIMBY — The Kingsley-Pierson girls golf team opened with a win at the first Western Valley Conference meet of the season hosted by River Valley at the Quimby Golf Course on Tuesday. K-P Head Coach Val Sitzmann said she was pleased with the result. “I was pleasantly surprised with tonight’s outcome,” Sitzmann said. “I knew how the girls had been practicing, but sometimes it is different when they hit the course. I wasn’t sure how they would come off of the break from playing last year.” The team finished with a 190 score which was three strokes better than runner-up Westwood. OABCIG was the only other team below 200 with a 197 team score.
