QUIMBY The Kingsley-Pierson girls golf team opened with a win at the first Western Valley Conference meet of the season hosted by River Valley at the Quimby Golf Course on Tuesday.
K-P Head Coach Val Sitzmann said she was pleased with the result.
I was pleasantly surprised with tonights outcome, Sitzmann said. I knew how the girls had been practicing, but sometimes it is different when they hit the course. I wasnt sure how they would come off of the break from playing last year.
The team finished with a 190 score which was three strokes better than runner-up Westwood. OABCIG was the only other team below 200 with a 197 team score.
