Reporter well, sarah we got horrific details from the chief of police in wilmington, he came here he gave us a quick interview and told us that the two children, both boys ages five years old and the other one a few months have passed away. Were standing next to the scene you can see a crime scene unit is here, several detectives and investigators in the entryway of the home. Blankets have been put up against the fence to block the view of the horrific situation. The chief said they got a call at 8 30 from the childrens mother. Reporter the chief says the suspect is mother is the suspect. Theyre not looking for anyone at this point. As the Investigation Continues to figure out why this tragedy happened many thoughts and prayers from this neighborhood are being sent out. Drowned. The boys mother is in custody being questioned. I feel bad for the babies more so anything innocent lives. Reporter neighbors were stunned and sickened to hear what was unfolding inside an apartment on the 800 block of west ninth street this morning as investigators put up a line of blankets to block the view from onlookers. This is a terrible situation. Its sad. Its overwhelming. Its just crazy, crazy out here. Reporter just after 8 30 the mother of two small boys, the first a few months old the second about five years old, called 911 and asked that someone come check on her children. Officers arrived to find the boys dead inside the home. They also smelled a strong odor of gas. At that time the Officers Determined to make sure to protect the scene protect everybody that lived in the building, they evacuated the building opened up all the doors to make sure it was safe to go back in.
