Coffee & Conversation: 1-2 p.m. Thursdays. A way for older adults in the community to connect with others safely and easily by phone. No need to leave your home! Join Stephanie Chissler, coordinator of the Aging in Balance Department at MelroseWakefield Healthcare, for these weekly calls. Call in once or call in every week for conversation, support, resource sharing and tips to reduce stress and anxiety. Bring your own coffee or tea and join in the conversation. Goddard House to host author Greg O’Brien

Goddard House, 165 Chestnut St., Brookline, will co-host author Greg O Brien for a virtual speaking event at 1 p.m. May 4.
Diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s, career journalist Greg O’Brien speaks about living with Alzheimer’s in his book, “On Pluto: Inside the Mind of Alzheimer’s,” which is about hope, faith and humor from an investigative reporter embedded inside the mind of Alzheimer’s, chronicling the progression of his own disease.
This event is co-sponsored by the Center Communities of Brookline, Brookline Community Aging Network and Brookline Senior Center.

Springwell grab-and-go hot lunches
The center is now offering hot “grab and go” lunches Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays in collaboration with Springwell. To reserve a hot lunch, residents must call the Senior Center at 617-730-2747 two business days in advance. There will be no admission to the Senior Center for any reason at the time of pick up. Those who are not feeling well and/or have a temperature of 100 degrees or higher should stay home and contact their physician. Face coverings (i.e., scarf, mask, bandana) are required when picking up the meal. Residents will be required to follow the directions provided by staff and volunteers at the time of arrival. Employees will ask residents for information on the phone so that they do not need to fill out forms at the time of pick up. For more information on the menu selections, call 617-730-
