BROOKFIELD The Brookfield Historical Commission kicked off a fundraiser to honor military personnel and will place banners in the community each year from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Shannon Devitz, chairwoman of the commission, said to reduce the costs associated with the yearly decorating and beautification of the township’s historical district, known as the Center Green, commission members are eager to use this space to honor township residents who have served or are serving in the military with personalized, patriotic banners.
The banners will adorn six lamp posts around the green.
“Commission members believe these additions will bring a whole new level of pride to their historic district,” Devitz said.
