SEYMOUR, WI (WTAQ) A release of toxic anhydrous ammonia from a cheese plant in Seymour led to the evacuation of residents around the plant.
Outagamie County officials say that the Seymour Fire Department was dispatched to the Emmi Roth Cheese plant at 124 East Bronson Road in Seymour for an airborne release of anhydrous ammonia.
Emergency personnel began evacuating residents shortly confirming the release.
Good Shepherd Nursing home, which is located within the area of the plant, was notified immediately and the facility and its residents were secured.
All residents who were evacuated will be advised when it is safe to return to their homes. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
