The announcement of the funding came two days after members of a Tenant Union held a public meeting with Bronin and city officials during which they broached concerns about their living conditions.
“The reality is, though unemployment is down at 4%, there’s a lot of folks who are working, but not making enough money in order to feed their families,” Senator Murphy said.
Mayor Bronin also said that he loves the idea of creating art in the moment, art that will last, as it is an expression of the spirit of the community coming together.
