Banning family speaks out after son’s alleged killer is captured nearly 3 years later
After two and half years, Jeanette Burns, mother of Alex Marcotte, said she s a step toward closer after her son s alleged killer, Brody Joseph Baca, was arrested on Wednesday in Sonora, Mexico.

There were a mix of emotions for Jeanette Burns, who would give up her life to bring back her son Alex Marcotte.

BANNING, CA A Banning man wanted for a 2018 shooting of two cousins has been captured in Mexico and will be returned to Riverside County for prosecution on charges of murder and attempted murder, it was announced Thursday.
Brody Joseph Baca, 22, was arrested Wednesday in Puerto Penasco, Sonora, without incident, according to the Riverside County District Attorney s Office. He was transported and booked at the Santa Cruz Detention Center in Nogales, Arizona, where he awaits extradition to Riverside County.

BANNING, CA Two years ago Monday, two cousins were shot in front of a Banning liquor store, one of them fatally, and the victim s relatives are still awaiting the capture of the accused gunman.
Dylan Artea, now 21, was shot on the evening of Dec. 28, 2018, alongside his 18-year-old cousin, Alex Marcotte. The pair had just exited 4 Bros Liquor at 310 E. Ramsey St. en route to a going-away party for a family friend bound for the military.
