The defending Wright Division champions looked the part in its season-opener on Saturday. The Greenfield hockey team got going fast in its opener against Easthampton, scoring twice in the first period to take control of the game. The Eagles defense.

Midway through the second period Wednesday night, it appeared the Greenfield hockey team was headed for a nail-biter with Southwick.
The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of the first period, the lone Green Wave goal coming from Jacob Bryant off a dish from Aidan Roche. Shane Prusak’s goal early in the second period was answered by a Ram goal midway through the second period, evening the scoring at two apiece.
That’s when the Greenfield offense came to life.
The Wave tallied three goals in the closing half of the second period before lighting the scoreboard up four times in the third frame to come away with a 9-2 lopsided victory at Amelia Park Ice Arena in Westfield.
