BROCKTON Thursday marks the first day that educators in Massachusetts are eligible throughout the state to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
And, in Brockton, by the end of Tuesday, Brockton Public Schools hope that half of its nearly 3,000 staff members will have their first dose.
The school district has partnered with the Brockton Neighborhood Health Center to secure 1,500 vaccine appointments for staff members on Friday, Monday and Tuesday. The Brockton Neighborhood Health Center is a valuable community resource and we re fortunate that their team was able to roll out a vaccine clinic in such a quick and efficient manner for our staff, said Jess Hodges, a spokesperson for Brockton Public Schools. But things have changed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic that has been in Massachusetts for nearly a year.
