The arrival of a new Andersson movie every few years should be heralded as an event, even if the idiosyncratic Swedish auteur seems to be running out of things to say. Where 2014’s A Pigeon Sat On A Branch Reflecting On Existence and 2007’s You The Living seemed like decent companion pieces to 2000’s masterful Songs From The Second Floor, finding interesting new ways to work within the absurdist tableaux format that is Andersson’s preferred mode of expression – About Endlessness feels thinly sketched and not especially insightful.
The coronavirus pandemic has had a major impact on the film industry. Movie theaters continue to operate with enhanced health and safety measures, following CDC recommended COVID-19 safety guidelines. Some films are tentatively scheduled for big-screen releases while others will be available digitally via video on demand.

Cornered), it follows four friends who head to Hawaii to investigate reports of a haunting at an abandoned resort in the hopes of finding the infamous Half-Faced Girl. However, when they arrive, they soon learn you should be careful what you wish for!

I’m sure I’m very wrong but it feels like there are about a dozen low budget horror movies with the title ‘The Resort’ and this one 2021 is the latest one. In it we see a group of four friends head to Hawaii to investigate reports of a haunted abandoned hotel and the story of the Half-Faced Girl.
To be fair
The Resort doesn’t come across as a particularly low budget affair. It’s shot decently enough and the production values look better than most (that aren’t super big budget). The location is key to a lot of this but with that, this abandoned hotel is part of both good points in the movie and bad ones. It’s good, well better than good, because it’s this hugely expensive and amazing looking abandoned hotel, with nature beginning to grow around it. It’s such a great place to ave for a horror movie and there’s so many different ways you could use it and stories you could tell around it. But maybe because of this my expect
