Landon Lassahn had the finishing touch for the Santa Ynez High boys water polo team in its first game of the pandemic-impacted season, pouring in 10 goals in a 17-12 win at Paso Robles on Saturday.
The water polo season was supposed to start in December, but it was delayed by a surge in COVID-19 cases and state health department guidelines. Updated guidelines and a drop in adjusted cases per 100,000 allowed the sport to be played. Teams have two weeks to get games in until the CIF s last competition date on March 20.
