The Jefferson City American Legion Post 5 Seniors Auxiliary team came away with a 13-4 victory Saturday against the Post 5 Juniors in the Sedalia Tournament. The Post 5 Seniors scored five runs in the top of the first inning and six more in the second to build an 11-0 lead.
ELSBERRY The Jefferson City American Legion Post 5 Juniors finished in second place out of eight teams in the Elsberry Post 226 Memorial Weekend Wood Bat Tournament with a 4-1 record to begin their season.
For almost any other pitcher, it would be considered a superb outing. But for Wil Libbert, Monday was just another typical start on the mound for him. The Blair Oaks left-handed pitcher went five-plus innings without allowing a hit to the Capital City Cavaliers. He struck out 14 of the 17 batters he faced, leading the Falcons to a 6-0 victory at the Falcon Athletic Complex.
Max Buscher was efficient Wednesday night. The Fatima senior right-handed pitcher threw 98 pitches in his second straight complete game. He limited the Blair Oaks Falcons to a pair of hits, leading the Comets to a 3-0 victory at Lions Field.
