Mask-wearing will be optional at all Broadway shows beginning July 1, according to a release from the Broadway League, which oversees all 41 Broadway theatres. The statement reads further, "Audience members are still encouraged to wear masks in theatres." The policy will be evaluated monthly, and mask-wearing protocols for August will be set in mid-July. Proof of vaccination is also no longer required at Broadway theatres; that requirement was lifted in May.
The Broadway League, the organization that oversees all 41 Broadway theatres, has announced updated masking and vaccination protocols for audiences. Now, masks will still be required at all Broadway theatres through at least May 31, but beginning May 1, it will be up to each individual theatre to decide whether to check proof of vaccination.
