President of the West Fargo Educators Association spoke Monday not to oppose or support the hiring requests, but to ask to give consideration to raising existing teacher and staff pay as well.
Positions will be 215-day positions and cost the district about $308,300, the majority of which will be paid for with federal money from the school-based mental health (SBMH) grant.
Although easing the crowding at other schools will be delayed, West Fargo Public Schools continues to plan ahead, approving the hiring process for a principal and roughly 10 teachers for new school.
West Fargo officials, as well as other school district officials have said the support for more mental health help has increased greatly since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
