The Waterworks mall near Aspinwall is losing a big-box tenant.
The Bed Bath & Beyond store began liquidation sales this week and will close by the end of February, according to a store manager who declined to comment further.
Messages left with the company’s corporate office were not returned.
In July, the company reported poor sales during the first quarter of its fiscal year, which included March, April and May.
Net sales in those months totaled $1.3 billion, down 49% from the same period last year.
Bed Bath & Beyond CEO Mark Tritton wrote in a July news release that the covid-19 pandemic contributed to the losses.
