Today, the ACLU of Alabama, 23 other local organizations, and dozens of individuals all sent a letter demanding that U.S. House Financial Services Committee urgently investigate the State of Alabama’s ill-conceived plan to spend $400 million dollars of COVID relief funds to build prisons.
