A CROSS-PARTY of MPs are set to debate the ongoing Indian farmers protest after a Maidenhead councillor’s successful petition. At 4:30pm today (March 8), Parliamentarians will gather both in person and virtually at Westminster Hall – which was triggered after St Mary’s ward councillor Gurch Singh’s e-petition reached over the 100,000 target. Cllr Singh started the petition - which has been signed by nearly 115,700 people so far - in December, demanding the UK government make a statement on the protests as well as urging the Indian government to ensure the safety of protestors and maintain press freedoms there.

Philologist Adamantios Korais and the third American President, Thomas Jefferson, exchanged important correspondence during the Greek War of Independence, sharing ideas on the concepts of democracy and liberty.
The little-known friendship and exchange of ideas between the two men can be found in the letters they wrote to each other, which are preserved in the Korais Library on the island of Chios.
The Greek scholar had a deep knowledge of his nation’s ancient culture and was one of the most important representatives of the modern Greek enlightenment. He was also a pioneer in the publication of ancient Greek philosophy and literature.
Pakistan once again urges India to lift military siege in IIOJK

In a tweet today (Tuesday), Foreign Office Spokesperson posted the video of British Parliamentarians’ debate on political situation in Kashmir.
He said such independent voices call out the Indian authorities for their blatant human rights violations in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In the video, British Parliamentarians termed all such human rights violations as a universal matter of concern.
