The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (Biba) has named Alex Margolin of Sioma Insurance Consultants Young Broker of the Year 2021.
The trade body stated that as Young Broker winner, in addition to industry recognition at Biba’s annual conference, Margolin was given a cash award.
It added that the two runners-up from a “field of exceptionally high quality” were Colette Crawford of Marsh and Ola Jacob Raji of FloodFlash.

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association’s (Biba) virtual conference will run for an additional day following technical issues when it opened yesterday (12 May).
The body confirmed that its networking platform would be kept open for an extended period in order to allow delegates more time to network.

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (Biba) is planning a return to Manchester and a face-to-face conference for 2022.
Commenting from the 2021 conference studio, Huw Edwards, BBC broadcaster and Biba conference host, said that the organisation would like to hold the 2022 Biba conference and exhibition at Manchester Central.
The event will take place on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 May, if epidemiological circumstances are favourable.

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (Biba) has awarded Keith Frampton its Francis Perkins award for his tireless work bringing appropriate insurance cover to members of the armed forces and his commitment to Biba.
Frampton
, formerly of Forces Insurance, was a Biba East Midland committee member and served on Biba’s Motor Panel including as its chair from 2017. His work on the Armed Forces Covenant saw him sit on the financial services steering group and visit Number 10 Downing Street

LexisNexis has unveiled a new product, Broker Intelligence, which it said will help level the data enrichment playing field and give brokers streamlined access to a wide range of data attributes about an individual, at the point of quote or renewal.
The data, analytics and technology provider noted that the new offering will be launched at this year’s British Insurance Brokers’ Association (Biba) conference, which takes place on 12 and 13 May.
